This has been a popular program because everyone goes home happy. Before Covid 19, TU tied up with Annapoorna to supply a chocolate nutrient drink which was put into the school’s milk. During the Covid pandemic, schools have remained closed and it was difficult to continue this. We took the nutrition program to the slums where they resided, giving ragi and amla and vitamins to mothers and infants and also to children of different ages. Now they are slowly reopening we have started adding items -usually seasonal fruit- to supplement their mid-day meal scheme in the 2 Government schools were we are operating. One school has about 350 kids and the other about 110.
